Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Introduction Non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NIDCM) is a severe form primary myocardial disease related with progressive heart failure (HF) and poor prognosis. In patients NIDCM, fibrosis (MF) associated to adverse cardiovascular outcomes should be evaluated quickly in each case NIDCM [1,2]. Purpose To evaluate the relationships between whole-heart strain parameters presence late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) prospective cohort patients. Methods The study group consisted 101 who were referred for magnetic resonance (CMR) speckle tracking echocardiography examination. We analyzed MF by LGE, (both ventricles atria) mechanics tracking. All underwent comprehensive clinical evaluation, laboratory test assessment, electrocardiogram, Holter monitoring. exclusion criteria ischemic coronary disease, valvular chronic kidney (eGFR <30 ml/min/1.73 m2), under age 18, echocardiographic or CMR image quality, inflammatory previous pulmonary embolism, peripartum toxic damage. Results was divided into two groups according fibrosis. worse parameters. Both atria more MF. strongest detected mechanical left side (left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) (r=0.662, 25 p<0.001), global circumferential (LV GCS) (r=-0.609, longitudinal GLS) (r=-0.586, atrial reservoir (LASr) (r=0.588, p<0.001). Logistic regression analysis revealed that last three mentioned independently Conclusions are patients‘ LV GLS, GCS, LARs best 2D prognosticate

Incremental prognostic value of myocardial fibrosis in patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy without congestive heart failure.

BACKGROUND We conducted a prospective longitudinal study to investigate the yet unknown clinical significance of myocardial fibrosis in patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy without history of congestive heart failure (CHF). METHODS AND RESULTS At 3 tertiary referral centers, 228 patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy without history of CHF were studied with cardiovascular magnetic res...

Myocardial blood flow distribution in patients with ischemic heart disease or dilated cardiomyopathy undergoing heart transplantation.

BACKGROUND The present investigation was designed to obtain an absolute measurement of myocardial blood flow and of its transmural distribution in ischemic heart disease and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and to provide a reference standard for cardiac imaging in nuclear cardiology. METHODS AND RESULTS Regional myocardial blood flow and its transmural distribution were estimated by the ref...

The effect of myocardial fibrosis on left ventricular torsion and twist in patients with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND Left ventricular (LV) rotation, twist, and torsion are important aspects of the cardiac performance. Myocardial fibrosis can be identified as the late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). In this study, we investigated the association between myocardial fibrosis and LV rotational parameters in patients with nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NDC). METH...

The value of myocardial perfusion imaging in differentiating between idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy from the ischemic form [Persian]

Introduction: Differentiating between ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) is important as coronary revascularization can improve prognosis in the ischemic subgroup. Due to inherent problems of coronary angiography in patients with depressed ejection fraction (EF) introducing a noninvasive tool to diagnose those who will benefit from angiography seems...

Myocardial fibrosis is not associated with reduced quality of life in patients with dilated or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Background and objectives Patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) frequently demonstrate non-ischemic pattern myocardial fibrosis (MF) on delayed enhancement magnetic resonance imaging (DE-MRI). The clinical significance of this finding with respect to impact on Quality of Life (QOL) is poorly understood. In this study we identify the prevalence of MF in...
